About this Event

Join Sanctuary Kitchen for a cooking class led by Sudanese chef Salma! Pick up the ingredients from Sanctuary Kitchen, and then cook along with Salma from home to make Ful, a hearty fava bean and vegetable brunch dish, and Basbousa, a semolina cake! Learn how to make these authentic Sudanese dishes and get to know Salma, her culinary background, and her experience as a new resident of New Haven.

This 90 minute live cooking class with Salma includes Q&A.

All participants will receive an ingredient kit with all the hard-to-find ingredients portioned out, recipes and the supply/equipment list. Recipes are vegetarian. The kits provide recipe ingredients for 2 servings, and include all non-perishable items, fresh produce, and some dairy. Attendees will need to provide eggs.

Ingredient kits are pick-up only, and can be picked up on Friday, February 26 between 4-6pm at CitySeed (817 Grand Ave in New Haven).

A class only option without the cooking kit is also available.
