Join Sanctuary Kitchen’s Afghan Cooking Class!

Learn authentic recipes from our Afghan refugee cooks, Sharifa and Laili!  Participants will prepare traditional stuffed dumplings — Mantu (meat-filled) and Aushak (leek filled).  You will get a chance to interact with the cooks and gain insight into the experiences of Afghan refugees and their way of life as new residents of New Haven.  After the lesson, sit down to enjoy the meal that you helped prepare!  All participants will receive copies of the recipes used.  Class size is limited to 15 people.

Place: Kitchen at CitySeed is located in the CitySeed office, 817 Grand Avenue, two blocks from State Street and downtown New Haven. Free parking available along Grand Avenue and on surrounding streets.
